The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Jagannath Barooah University, Jorhat organized a Capacity Building Workshop on Office and Financial Management in Higher Education for the non-teaching staff of the University on 18th September, 2025 at the New Conference Hall.
The programme commenced with a Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Kalyan Das, Director, IQAC. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Jyoti Prasad Saikia, Vice-Chancellor, Jagannath Barooah University, who, in his inaugural speech, delivered an insightful talk on the relevance of office and financial management in higher education institutions. He also expressed his appreciation to the IQAC for organising such a meaningful programme.
The event was also graced by Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahant, Registrar, Jagannath Barooah University, who highlighted the importance of organizing such workshops for strengthening administrative efficiency. Dr. Surajit Sarmah, Dean Academic, and Dr. Ankur Gogoi, Dy. Director of IQAC also participated in the programme.
The Resource Person of the workshop was Syed Parwaj M. U. Rahman, FAO, Sibsagar University, who made a detailed presentation on various aspects of office procedures and financial management in higher education institutions. His lecture provided practical insights and guidelines for improving efficiency in office and financial administration.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of more than 30 participants, including non-teaching staff members of the University and Principals and office staff from nearby colleges. The interactive sessions provided opportunities for participants to clarify doubts and share experiences related to office and financial management.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation from Suchibrata Chellang, Dy. Director of IQAC to the organisers and participants, marking the workshop as a significant step towards capacity building and professional development of the University’s non-teaching staff.
