The Department of Zoology is one of the oldest and leading departments of Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous). It was established as a Department of Biology in 1953. At present, three Associate Professors and four Assistant Professors with three supporting staff are working in the department. Since its inception, the department has able to show remarkable performance in maintaining the tradition of academic excellence. Faculty members of the department have received research grants from various governmental sources like UGC, DBT, DST.
