Teachers’ Day cum Department Day was celebrated in a colourful and splendid manner at Jagannath Barooah University on 5th September 2025. The entire campus came alive with vibrant decorations, cultural programmes, and heartfelt exchanges between students and teachers.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jyoti Prasad Saikia, and the Registrar, Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, conveyed warm greetings to the faculty on this occasion. Teachers, in turn, extended their wishes to them, making the day a reflection of mutual respect and academic bonding.
Each department observed Department Day in its own distinctive style. Students celebrated the occasion by honouring their teachers with flowers and greetings, while the programmes featured cultural performances, inspirational speeches, and the welcoming of freshers to different departments. The atmosphere of camaraderie and joy truly reflected the spirit of the university.
Release of total 23 Wall Magazines
The most significant highlight of the celebration was the simultaneous release of 23 wall magazines in the University Auditorium, a proud tradition of the Inter-Department Wall Magazine Competition.
The Vice Chancellor formally released the common wall magazine SPONDON, prepared by the Students’ Union. The other wall magazines, representing different departments and hostels, were unveiled together, marking a historic moment. Each magazine, with its carefully chosen theme, showcased the intellectual creativity, research interests, cultural sensibilities, and artistic talents of the students.
