The Department of Commerce, Jagannath Barooah College (Autonomous), Jorhat, organized a two-day offline workshop on “Data Analysis Using SPSS” on the 4th and 5th of April, 2025. The workshop aimed to provide hands-on training in SPSS for data analysis and was specially designed for research scholars, faculty members, and postgraduate students.

The sessions were conducted by Dr. Dibyajyoti Bora, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, Cotton University. His engaging and insightful sessions helped participants understand the practical applications of SPSS in research.

A total of 23 participants took part in the workshop, making it an interactive and focused learning environment. The sessions were held at the Commerce Department of J.B. College from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both days.

The inaugural session of the workshop was graced by Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, Principal of J.B. College, who also served as the Chief Patron of the event. His presence added great value to the occasion. The workshop was smoothly coordinated by Mr. Ashis Kashyap, with Dr. Biju Roy, Dr. Ajit Chandra Das, and Dr. Ujjal Bhuyan serving as convenors. Dr. Rajlaxmi Bordoloi, Head of the Department of Commerce, acted as the Patron of the event. The organizing committee included faculty members Porag Sarmah, Dr. Apurba Sharma, Dr. Harbamon Rongpi, Suchibrata Chellang, Aditi Kejriwal, and Nilakshi Dutta.

Overall, the workshop proved to be a successful initiative in enhancing research skills and data analysis capabilities among the participants.
