Pracya Vidya Parishad, the students forum of the Department of Sanskrit, Jagannath Barooah University organized a motivational talk program on the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day on the topic “Personality Development in light of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings” in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra, Jorhat branch on 10th September, 2025 from 2.00 PM to 3.30 PM in the New Conference Hall of the institute.
The event began with a Mangalacarana presented by Sukanya Borah, 5th Semester student. Akangsha Borah, 5th Semeter student skillfully hosted the event. Before starting the lecture Dr Champak Deka, Head of the Department delivered the welcome address to the gathering and encourage the students for their initiative.
The Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to KumariAlakagauri Joshi, Assam Pranta Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Speaker of the talk program, for gracing the occation with a motivational lecture on Personality Development with special reference to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. She talks in her lecture that Swami Vivekananda’s teachings emphasize self-belief and potential, urging individuals to “Arise, Awake” and realize their divine nature. Key principles include selfless service to others, cultivating discipline and strength, the importance of character-focused education and embracing unity in dyversity by respecting all cultures and beliefs.
Mr. Pranjal Sarma, a dedicated Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra, Jorhat branch appreciated to the students of the department for organizing the program. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Sumi Bora, 5th Semester student.
