The Chemical Society under the Department of Chemistry organized an Extempore Speech competition on 30.08.2025 at the conference hall 1 ( Jagannath Barooah University). The event aimed to enhanced the confidence, spontaneity and communication skills of the participants while testing their ability to think quickly and present ideas effectively. This event was mainly organized for the UG 1st semester students , they were given unique and thought-provoking topics on the spot ,ranging from the cultures of Assam and famous personalities to some recent current affairs. Each student was allotted 1minute 30 seconds to deliver the speech .
The students spoke with enthusiasm and creativity ,showcasing not only their speaking ability but also their critical thinking and presence of mind. The judges Dr. Gitashree Darabdhara and Dr Anirban Garg, assessed the participants on content ,fluency , confidence and overall presentation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Akhtara H. Kalita (HOD) , appreciating the efforts of the participants ,the guidance of teachers ,and the enthusiasm of the audience. A total of 75 students were present from the UG 1st, 3rd and 5th semester.
