PG 1st Semester MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT Selection Test Update:
Time: 11:00 AM TO 12:00 NOON

Point to be noted by the candidates appearing in the selection test:
1. A special 'Attendance' link will be provided on this page and also on the admission portal two(2) hours prior to commencement of the test. Candidate should record their attendance simply by entering their Acknowledgement Number (Example: ADMSACK00000) and Name. After this step only they will be able to access the relevant question paper.
2. Candidates should ensure that the details provided are same as those submitted in their application.
3. Candidates must have a working Gmail account; preferably the one submitted to the college during the application process. The test will be through Google Forms.
4. Candidates who do not appear in the selection test will automatically be deleted from the departmental merit list for that subject.
PG students who have applied for admission (session : 2021-22) can update their final (6th semester) marksheet, total percentage and credit point by editing the submitted form. Please login and go to status page to edit on or before 20/10/2021.
PG Mathematics Entrance exam will be held on 23/10/2021 in online mode. There will be 25 questions each carrying 2 marks . Time of exam will be notified later on . Time: 11:00 am to 12:00 noon
The candidates appearing in the PG Entrance Test should note this important point that the Form Acknowledgement Number (Example: ADMSACK12345), which they have already received during registration, will be their Roll Number for the Entrance Test.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR PG PROGRAMMES:
- Admission Notice will be published in the Newspapers and College website.
- A candidate must pass in the concerned subject with Honours/Major/Core at the undergraduate level (except Mathematics) from any recognised university securing at least 45% marks in the concerned subject.
- Eligibility criteria: i) For Mathematics honours students : minimum 50% marks in honours in UG exam.
ii) For Mathematics non-honours students : minimum 60% marks in Mathematics generic elective / pass course. Final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of merit giving 50:50 weightage on the entrance test and percentage of their marks in honours/major/core subjects at the UG level. - Students who have passed BA / B Com/ B. Sc.Examinations before 2021 will be treated as irregular if they are not pursuing any study. Irregular students seeking admission must submit affidavit for the gap period at the time of admission. Students who have passed B.A., B.Sc. and B. Com. before 2019 are not eligible for admission.
- Selection of students will be made on the basis of selection test and the % (pc) of marks secured in the Honours/Majore/Core subjects only in the TDC examination.

B.A. Honours Programme
Students passed in 10+2 examination in Arts in 2020 and 2021 with an aggregate of 45% marks may apply for B.A. Honours Programme. However, students must note that the selection criteria for B.A. Honours Programme vary according to the subjects as given below:
- Students opting for Honours in Assamese will be selected through an online SELECTION TEST. Candidates having 60% in aggregate; 40% in English and 70% in Assamese (MIL) in the 10+2 Examination will be eligible to appear in the Test.

- Students opting for Honours in Economics must have passed the 10+2 level with 60% marks in aggregate, and 60% marks in Economics. Applicants from a Science background must have at least 40% marks in Mathematics. Applicants from Arts stream with Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level will be given preference.
- Students opting for Honours in English will be selected through an online SELECTION TEST. Candidates having 65% marks in aggregate; 75% marks in English in the 10+2 Examination will be eligible to appear in the Test. Eligibility will be 60% marks in aggregate; 70% marks in English for SC/ST/PH candidates.

- Students opting for Honours in Geography will be selected on the basis of a merit list prepared by calculating the sum of Marks in English, Marks in Geography and percentage of Marks scored in the 10+2 Examination.
- Students opting for Honours in Hindi must have 55% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Hindi (MIL) or Advanced Hindi or Hindi Core in the 10+2 Examination.
- Students who only studied Hindi at the Class 10 level will be considered at par with other Hindi examinations passed such as Ratan, Pravin from Rhastra Bhasha Click here for Registration (applying for Hindi Department only).
- Students opting for Honours in History will be selected on the basis of a merit list prepared by calculating the sum of Marks in History and aggregate Marks scored in the 10+2 Examination.
- Students opting for Honours in Philosophy must have 50% marks in aggregate, 50% in Logic & Philosophy and at least 40% marks in English. A merit list of the applicants will be prepared by calculating the sum of Marks in Logic & Philosophy and aggregate Marks scored in the 10+2 Examination.
- Students opting for Honours in Political Science will be selected through an online SELECTION TEST. Candidates having 60% marks in aggregate; 60% marks in English and 65% marks in Political Science in the 10+2 Examination will be eligible to appear in the Test.

- Students opting for Honours in SANSKRIT must have 45% marks in aggregate, in the 10+2 examination and must have studied Sanskrit as a subject in at the 10+2 level.
- Students opting for Honours in SOCIOLOGY must have 60% marks in aggregate; 50% marks in English and 60% marks in Sociology in the 10+2 Examination.
B.Sc. Honours Programme
Students passed in 10+2 examination in Science in 2020 and 2021 with an aggregate of 45% marks may apply for B. Sc. Honours Programme. However, students must note that the selection criteria for B.Sc. Honours Programme vary according to the subjects as given below;
- Students opting for Honours in Chemistry must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 10+2 level with 40% marks in Mathematics. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics plus marks secured in Chemistry.
- Students opting for Honours in Physics must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 10+2 level with 60% marks in Physic and 40% marks in Mathematics. The merit list will be prepared on the basis ofthe total marks secured in Physics and Mathematics plus marks secured in Physics.
- Students opting for Honours in Geology and Electronic Science must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 10+2 level. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Students opting for Honours in Botany and Zoology must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the 10+2 level. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Biology plus marks secured in Biology.
- Students opting for Honours in Mathematics must have passed EITHER Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Economics, Statistics and Mathematics at the 10+2 levelwith minimum 55% marks in Mathematics. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of 60% mark secured in an entrance test plus 40% from marks secured in 10+2 level.
(The entrance test will be held in online mode with 25 questions, each carrying 2 marks, from the class 12 syllabus.
The duration of the test will be of 1 hour.)
- Students opting for Honours in Statistics must have studied EITHER Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Economics, Statistics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level with 40% marks in Mathematics. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Economics, Statistics and Mathematics.
B.Com. Honours Programme
- Students passed in 10+2 examination in Commerce in 2020 and 2021 with an aggregate of 45% marks may apply for Commerce. Honours Programme. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks secured in English, Accountancy and Business Studies at the 10+2 examination.

Note :
- Candidates seeking admission under sports and cultural quota must submit certificate of participation in the State/National level competitions. However, preference will be given to those sports which are included in DU youth festival list. Those who seek to avail NCC quota must produce NCC examination pass certificate and NCC camp attendance certificates. However, selection in those categories will be determined by the selection committee constituted at the time of admission.
- Candidates seeking admission under TGL and employee quota must also submit relevant certificates duly signed by the competent authority along with the application form.
- Irregular students seeking admission must submit affidavit along with application form for the gap period. Their selection will be made on the basis of merit. However, the students who have cleared the qualifying examination before 2020 will not be admitted.
